Management & Staff

Bond Prediger, CPA

I was born and raised in Ponoka and chose to return after earning my Bachelor of Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. Since completing my degree in 2011, I have had the privilege of working with Rowland, Parker & Associates. In 2019, I successfully completed the Common Final Examination (CFE) and obtained my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. My husband Steve, and our daughters Foster and Enslie, built our family home in Ponoka County, where we raise Simmental cattle. In our spare time, we enjoy the outdoors, staying active, and travelling with friends and family.

Brittany Pugh, CPA

I was born and raised in Ponoka, and currently reside on a farm 20 minutes East of Ponoka with my husband Bronson Pugh and our two kids Rowan and Holden. I graduated university with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2014, and I started working at Rowland Parker & Associates in May of 2013. I received my CPA designation in 2017. I have one dog, a sheltie named Clara, and two cats Melly and Scarlett. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and doing yard work outside.

Brittney Tomkins

I obtained my Bachelor of Management degree with a major in accounting in 2010 from the University of Lethbridge and have worked in public practice ever since. I joined the firm in September 2018 and couldn’t be happier with my decision. I was born in Saskatchewan, lived in Ponoka for my high school years and currently live in Lacombe. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, travelling, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Brooke Boser

I grew up in Ponoka, only venturing away long enough to attend post-secondary. After college, I realized that the big city was never where I pictured spending my life – which lead me to move back where I now call a family farm home with my other half - Darren, our son - Declan and step-daughter - Saige. Previously, I have worked in many office settings within Ponoka with duties varying from bookkeeper to management. I joined the RPA family in 2020, and it has been a great fit ever since. When I am not at work, you can find me making memories with my family, reading a good book and enjoying the fresh air – preferably all at once!

Colleen Gadd

I was born and raised on a farm east of Ponoka. I married my high school sweetheart, Todd, and raised our 2 daughters on an acreage where we still reside today. I love spending time with our grandchildren, camping, and enjoy the peacefulness of country living. I started working in public practice as an accounting technician a few years out of high school, and after working on a contract basis with Rowland Parker for a while, I transitioned to a full time position in March of 2020.

Carolyn Gossen

I started working with Rowland Parker & Associates in 2018 after my husband and I moved back to Alberta from Summerside, PEI in 2017 to be closer to family. I have worked in accounting for many years and am so grateful to have continued my career with such exceptional Partners and co-workers. We love spending time with our combined family of 7 children and 14 grandchildren (2 of which got married in the last couple of years) and soon a Great addition. Our family all live in Central Alberta, Rimbey, Blackfalds, Calgary, Forestburg, Beaumont, Edmonton and Stony Plain with the exception of one son and family who live in Tampa, Florida which has become the usual travel destination during the year when not putting on the miles around Alberta.

Colleen Hibbard

I started working at Rowland, Parker & Associates in November 2019. I have done administration work my entire adult life in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta. I have 2 adult sons, 1 daughter in-law and 4 beautiful grandchildren. In my spare time I love traveling, reading, running & paddleboarding.

Dana Schultz

I grew up on a small farm in rural Saskatchewan and moved to Alberta to attend post-secondary. After college, I started working in the agricultural industry where I met my husband Kyler. We were married in 2017 and we now live about 20 minutes east of Ponoka. I joined the RPA team in March 2022 and I love working alongside this incredible group of people. When I’m not at the office, I love spending time with family. I also enjoy spending time outdoors – my favourite activities are camping, biking, skiing… although if the weather is foul, I can often be found curled up with a good book!

Debbie Derwantz, CPA, CGA

I grew up in the County of Stettler on a farm, I married and moved to Whitecourt where we resided for 15 years. My husband accepted a transfer to the Joffre plant and we now live in Lacombe County and enjoy being back in central Alberta and closer to family. I started in the CGA program before I had children and thought I would have lots of free time to complete once they were born. My goal then changed to get my degree and designation before any of them completed University and I did accomplish this. I have worked in public and the private sector both before joining Rowland Parker & Associates. In my spare time I enjoy any outdoor activity and adventure travel.

Debbie Emes

I started working for Rowland Parker & Associates as an Accounting Technician in October of 2006. In my spare time I enjoy playing ball, skiing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Gianna Halbert

I started working at Rowland Parker & Associates during the income tax season of 2003. That same year my husband, Shawn and I had our first child, and I spent the next 11 years at home raising our two boys. I began working for RPA again in February of 2014. I grew up on a farm near Blackfoot, Alberta, where my parents and brothers still farm. I met my husband while I was still in high school, so decided to attend Medicine Hat College so that he wouldn’t have to make the 5 hour drive every other week to come visit me. We got married in 1996 and moved to Lethbridge so that he could attend University. We moved a few more times before settling in Ponoka in 2002. In my spare time I enjoy dancing, visiting with family and friends, and playing with our very busy border collie, Lily.

Kari Grant

I started at Rowland Parker & Associates in June 2014. When the opportunity presented itself I chose to switch jobs due to the great work atmosphere offered at the firm. I have 20 plus years of experience in administration support and accounting, mainly with small business. I came to Ponoka in Grade 2, moved away after high school, and eventually moved back. I am a Ponoka lifer!! I have an adorable Havanese-poodle, Charlie, and he is definitely my baby….yes dogs are harder than children because they never grow up or move out! I am a photographer and photobooth owner in my spare time. I enjoy all mediums of photography as long as there is a human or animal in the frame.

Kohlby Reiss

I grew up in Alix, AB on a hobby farm until I began my Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Red Deer and have recently graduated in 2023. I joined the RPA team for a summer position in 2022 and had a great experience. Growing up in a small town I enjoyed the small-town atmosphere that Ponoka offered and when the opportunity presented itself to come back to RPA after graduation, I couldn’t say no. In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, camping, spending time with my cat and travelling.

Krystal Storey

I grew up in the community of Clive and still live there today. After graduating high school, I took a diploma course in Accounting and Payroll administration. I got married in the summer of 2013 to my husband, Darren and was blessed with two spectacular kids, Chase and Joelle. I started working at Rowland, Parker & Associates in the tax season of 2023 and, after a short break, returned permanently at the beginning of January 2024. I love family time, horses, camping, hiking, skiing, gardening, and planning adventures.

Laura Van Dijk

Having raised a family in the Tees area I now reside in Clive. I started out bookkeeping with our own farm books and kept taking on more bookkeeping jobs over the years. I have enjoyed working with numbers at my various jobs and now find myself employed at RPA. I thoroughly enjoy the team atmosphere here. My interests outside of work are outdoor activities, hanging out with my grandsons and travelling.

Lynnette Hycha

I was born in Ponoka, spent my school years in Wetaskiwin, college in Red Deer, and ultimately returned to Ponoka in 1988. I started working at Rowland Parker & Associates in January of 1989, starting with T4/T5 prep, then as tax season staff, and moved into an admin position following tax season that same year. I am currently the Firm Administrator and my other areas of specialty are Quickbooks and Taxprep, and I am the Assistant Onsite IT person. My community involvement over the years has included Victim Services, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Ponoka Minor Hockey, Ponoka Stampede, and the Ponoka & District Health Foundation. I enjoy spending time outside, working in my yard in the summer, and I keep active with the gym, hiking and curling....and trying to keep my 'very active' dog entertained! I also enjoy traveling, and am always exploring new activities, adventures or destinations that ultimately provide me with an ever-changing 'bucket list' to keep checking off.

Melissa Maser

After working 13 years in the oil and gas industry as an office manager, I obtained my position with Rowland Parker & Associates in January 2018. Born and raised in Ponoka, I love our small town. Currently residing on an acreage east of town with my husband and twin daughters. We are a busy family, enjoying the outdoors as much as we can. We like to spend our time gardening, riding horses, camping, and taking care of our animals. But most of all spending time with family and friends.

I am interested in history, and enjoy exploring museums and historical sites.
